Bulow RV Resort in Flagler's Beach

Upon arriving at Bulow, we were both pleased to find that our sites were pull-throughs. It sure makes life easier!

The location of this campground is perfect for us. The beach is 15 minutes away which includes a portion of the beach where dogs are allowed on leash, and there are many trails just minutes away. There is a Publix grocery store 5 minutes from the campground and a Winn-Dixie just a little farther.

The Flagler's Beach library, with free internet, is cozy and has a fabulous park behind it with tennis courts, skateboards ramps and, to our delight, a long boardwalk over a canal which leads to trails.

It's often windy by the ocean!

The Flagler's beach is beautiful! The colour of cinnamon, the sand looks like the top layer is composed of turbinado sugar. Yummy! The beach extends for miles! The waves were good enough for some surfing so it was fun watching the surfers trying their luck at riding the wave for as long as they could.

A Willet. First time seeing one.

We also found a nearby dog park that was located in a municipal park that had large soccer fields, baseball fields, a park for skateboards and mountain bikes, tennis courts, etc. But near the parking lot we could see the beginning of a boardwalk so we went to see. It was a nice boardwalk that crosses a large pond inhabited by several different species of wildlife. We watched a Green Heron going back and forth to snap some reeds near the shore to bring back to where we guessed he/she was building a nest. Another great find!

Different species of turtles were seen.

And as if we were not spoiled enough with all these amazing places, Glen, while out on an epic walk (he does those when he's by himself) found another beautiful trail just off the road to the Bulow Plantation ruins which is almost right beside the campground.

We had visited the ruins last year so we opted not to go back this time. Bulow Plantation Campground is cute with its many arched wooden bridges and large trees but some of its buildings could be updated. We definitely will go back to enjoy all the nice walking trails and the beautiful beach.

The beach: my happy place.

They are now best friends.
